DFS has been developed to allow the National Grid Electricity System Operator (NGSO) to access additional flexibility when the national demand is at its highest – during peak winter days – which is not currently accessible to the NGESO in real time. This new innovative service will allow residential consumers, as well as some industrial and commercial users via VpowerU, to be incentivised for voluntarily flexing the time when they use their electricity.

No, it's entirely up to you. Of course we'd encourage you to take part in as many events as you can.
We’ll calculate what you usually use at that time of day, on average using historical meter reading data. We'll then use half-hourly averages as a benchmark for every kilowatt hour vs actual consumption during DFS event to calculate your demand reduction volume.
VpowerU has a competitive reward scheme in place for prosumers participating in Demand Flexibility Service. For additional details please email admin@vpoweru.com
